Belated 20th Year Toast

Two weeks ago, I went to visit our old country town in Orange. I was rather feeling sentimental that tears just rolled down my face the moment the Express Train was heading the town.

My friends who owned a Bed and Breakfast business outside the main town close to the old mining site that provided Gold during the Sydney Olympics 2000, invited me to stay with them.

I had a marvellous moment over there catching up with the entire family especially that their daughter and her kids are now growing up so fast and quick and they are all so gorgeous. It was lovely to be able to talk to them.

Then at dawn time, when the world was still laying in deep slumber, I went outside to feel the mountain's fresh air. With my cotton robe as my only consolation to warm me from the cold dew, I brave the dark moment outside with only the croaking of the pondside frogs and the singing crickets as my companions.

There I strolled around the 13 acres of the property with properly trimmed countrystyle garden, and talked to the three calves who willingly allowed me to give each one of them a gentle pat.

I took some photos and the place was definitely looking so serene I named the gate as the Gateway to Peace!

The place per se looks like Eden to me. I went around near the border of the paddocks where the grassfields were, waiting for the mountain sunrise and captured the sight with my little digital camera!

There was a little garden pond to the south wing and a big Spa outdoor. I also said hello to the flock of sheep who never stopped nibbling grasses. They stood quietly watching me while I took them a picture.

The night before on my arrival, the family held an Aussie style barbecue as a belated tribute to my 20th year celebration here in Australia.

We had my favourite Lamb chops and sausages so tender and juicy that went with the green salad and bread roll. They also gave me a toast with a glass of appetizing white wine.

It was an overdue visit to them.

To Marilyn, Peter and family, my heartfelt thanks!
