Good Morning in my Daylight Dreamtime from an Old Post

Note: This was originally written and posted in Myspace. That network profile of mine was hacked. And how pleased I am to find this being posted by me in another blog forum and that I managed to keep this in a secret folder. I feel so relieved to be reunited with my old writings to which this is the second that I dug somewhere.

"There still are quiet places from cities far away.
Where, in leafy corners, beauty holds its sway.
There nature whispers to the heart.
Truths only she can ever impart."

~ Anon from the short poem Green Thoughts

It is a refreshing cool morning today. As usual, my morning ritual is looking out of the window from my room watching the birds chirping noisily as they busy themselves flying to and fro and hopping from tree to tree.

They nest abundantly which are now becoming more populated in branches and twigs. I could have fed them bread right on my palm as they frolic in the gutter and on the rooftop. Oh how cute they can be as they charm my heart and make me smile.

They are just little birds for the kookaburras are long gone already. These laughing stocks (kookaburra) are my clocks alerting me that daylight will soon break after dawn. Meanwhile, the little birds are free as they hop and swing on tiny little branches playing their own trapeze so marvellous in my eyes.

Kookaburra

This is the tree where my twitter friends nest

The rare connifer above has changed colour from lemon yellow to now dark tangerine; which reminds me, I need to take a new photo of it to post here one day.

Last night, my peaceful sleep was interrupted by the pelting of a soft rain; yet, audible enough to beckon me to look out of my window again. This is a welcome habit for me to keep my thoughts pure away from cyber distraction.

I must go now and cook some pancakes. This is a weekend ritual served with strawberry and homemade apple stew and topped with maple syrup.

The girls are planning something for the day, so this will be a solitary life again though there's plenty to do. I was just thinking of my garden that needs a bit of my tender loving care. The plants obviously have missed my voice.

Maybe later, play a bit in the organ and sing like a crazy disenchanted mermaid. See you folks... such a life from down under.

I look at the sky and the clouds too. The rain clouds are still hovering for another rain to fall any minute now. And the wind brings soft breeze making the feel so cool, peaceful and fresh.

It is good that we are seemly getting regular rain which is rather unusual; for this time of year, the sweltering heat of the season is not my best friend at all. It won't be long now that most of the areas will be completely sunburnt and the sight will convert into a dusty coloured desert, so lifeless.

Meanwhile, my flying visitors are back on my rooftop. I need to say hello to them. Perhaps they'll sing me their song and they better delight my chirping spirit.

Cheers!

I am glad you found them too! And i had a pic of that Kookaburra - close shot of that bird with my son when it visited us one autumn morning on our vacation in Pemberton, WA.

  2. Silver, your presence certainly made my day. Thanks for the compliments about the writing. Pretty elementary though enough to keep the momentum going. Hugs.

  3. When my children were young we used to sing a song about a kookaburra in an old gum tree. But we have never seen one as they do not live where we do.

  4. I used to sing that when I was in my elementary years too. Until I came to live here, that's when I saw Kookaburra in my whole life. They are everywhere even here in the city making raucous noises early in the morning and also when twilight comes.

Thanks for the visit Madam. Pleasant surprise! :)

  12. Thank You too Ma'am Mia. I agree that it's a long way down from the top where you are.

It is cold here being Winter but not as bad as yours over there. So enjoy your Summer while it lasts. I don't like much our summer though. I always pray for a milder summer. :)
