Taken from the Inspiration Line, I will attribute my blog today to a lady who pronounced me her friend after sometime of testing my friendship. I understand her for subjecting me under the scalpel of her scrutinizing prejudice and placing me under her microscopic doubts. Little did she know that I already have measured her mind without saying anything. I am very much an observant person and I know how to get along without being too obvious.
This morning when she rang to greet me Happy Birthday, she truly touched my heart and her words brought tears to my eyes when she openly expressed her appreciation of my person that she now discovered as she has seen how I stood bare in her eyes. I am the way I am, and I am just being myself. No need for any pretense, no need wearing any mask, no need of any make-over. I am plain through and through. I say what I need to say, I opine when necessary, I am vocal when the circumstance is required, and I am there when needed for as long as am able and available under all weather. Of course, I too have my own shortcomings.
In turn, I also feel privileged and delighted to get to know her better in my own stand point and I marveled at the discovery of her own person as I watch her, as I listen to her, my admiration and appreciation for her grow even deeper and I let her know that.
As a person, I expect nothing from people. Some well-meaning words expressed with sincerity can be overwhelming but I learned to accept and take compliments however small I felt for myself.
To Lucy, here's a poem for you.

Friends Forever Near
As we walk along our path of life,
We meet people every day,
Most are simply met by chance,
But some are sent our way.
These become the special friends
Whose bond we can’t explain,
The ones who understand us
And share our joy and pain.
Their love contains no boundaries,
So even when apart,
Their presence still embraces us
With a warmth felt in the heart.
This love becomes a passageway
Where ever the miles disappear,
And the special friends life sends our way
Remain forever near.
