They came on short notice. Is that exaggeration? No, I was given an hour's notice via cell phone call that they were coming. I was busy loading pictures in my new blog I just created and I couldn't leave the uploading till done.
My place was a bit disorderly but not messy, not that anyone cares. Thankfully, I have all the washing hung on the line outside, and the dishes done. There's only one thing I did not do. I did not cook. But that is not a crime for me to fear about.
Lately, I am in the mood to stick on a salad diet. But I did not even prepare any salad at all. I just thought, I will rest my system from eating. So I exist on crackers, water and a cup of tea for a change. I didn't feel hungry even.
Since the wedding, I did not see much of the new couple except two weekends where I saw them in the church. Poor fellows. They have to work very hard. They did not even get the chance of enjoying a honeymoon phase.
Since part of the work happened to be nearby my area, they decided to get some Thai noodles and my favourite vegetarian fried rice and came over to my place. We ate what they brought in. While eating, we also engaged in our usual family conversation called catching up. This kind of family scenario seldom happens.
After eating, I served ourselves a nice hot cuppa tea with a helping of sliced Apple Custard Tea Cake that I bought from the Blue Mountains, a place called Katoomba.
While having a cuppa and a nibble of the Tea Cake, we You Tube the Wedding Dance Entrance of Jill and Kevin's Big Day. It got a hit of more than 12 million viewers. Talk about You Tube obsession.
Before they left, the three of us gave the six gorgeous two-weeks and four days old kitties affectionate cuddles. They are all so cute and beautiful. My girl wanted to sneak out one kitten. I said, it's not ready to be weaned from the mother yet.
They did not stay long. They live far from me and need good rest after a busy week.
It will be ages before I'll receive another random guests. My daughter in Orange did that a week ago. I think my children are trying to recompense the lost times with me.
Cheers!

Oh how nice, Bonnie... I wish my kids would 'pop in' on occasion. I just don't ever see enough of them nor the grands. Oh Well--tis life.
ReplyDeleteKnow you enjoyed the impromptu visit...
Hugs,
Betsy
That's great Bonnie, those kind of 'pop-ins' are always the most welcome ones and when it's the kids I would love them. Thank you for sharing this lovely post and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear kind Betsy - and a Happy Birthday to you. May you have many more to come.
ReplyDeleteAll the best!
Hugs back to you.
Dear kind Denise, yes, it's always lovely when they "pop in" and lonely when they "pop out".
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for popping in. :)
Hi Bonnie, You have a lovely family and I'm sure you didn't mind them stopping by on such short notice. The wedding was beautiful but its a shame they did not have time for a honeymoon.
ReplyDeleteOh No, none at all Pam. I'm actually a good hostess. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a shame that they couldn't enjoy a honeymoon. They'll make it up in October to New Zealand.
Thanks for the visit. Much appreciated.
I'd love to "pop" in there too given the chance :)
