Sad but Glad

How can these two contrasting words be put together in harmony? Will my story below justify the end? I will follow this up with a sub-title:

Fatal End in Air Disaster

A beloved friend, Gigi Solijon died in a plane crash. I was not told when, but I searched for some information about the cause of the accident using the name of the carrier.

From Air Disaster dot Com, here is the accident synopsis of the 02 of February 1998 disaster I gathered.

Looking so grieved and glum, the accident is best described as due to, "The aircraft crashed into terrain while descending for approach. The CVR revealed that the Ground Proximity Warning System warned of terrain 13 times before impact."

One can never tell why it was not picked up by the crew, otherwise, they would take safety measures and alerted the passengers. Or perhaps, their location might deem hopeless for a possible redemption.

I came to this conclusion of knowing how unpredictable life can be. I was searching for friends at Facebook but my brain was clogged with so many names to remember. Then one by one, the tendron of my seemly cloistered mind loosen up a bit, and one by one, my memory revealed one particular family friend.

As I typed it in, there I saw a brother's name. I studied his basic information and it was so that I decided to send him a message re-introducing myself as his sister's friend; telling him all the goodness and kindness his family had done in helping me when I was a student, attending the same university like his siblings did.

Thankfully, he responded with a dreadful news about Gigi's fatal end. From there, I also found the younger sister named Jeddie and she, too, acknowledged and to them, I am reconnected.

My personal life has been bundled with so many overwhelming events that I tend to coil in the corner of distraction and weakness. So many that I could not bring myself up to writing. My blog has suffered for too long and has been abandoned. Much as I have resolved to jot some memories (good or bad) on a daily journal via my blog, I opted to hopscotch to while away my irregularity and quandary.

Yes, Gigi's friendship has brought some positive spiritual impact in my life. Not only her but her other family members as well. I could not put away from my heart and mind their support when I lived far away from home desperately needing help to sustain my life while studying. See, I was a pauper in a sense. (^_^). There is nothing to be ashamed of this fact. And never will I!

Yes, I am glad that I found the family. But sad that Gigi's life was taken too soon. We could have a complete reunion via Facebook.
