"The Light Upon the Sea"

Here's a poem for those who think and feel that life will be forever doomed. Mourning for instance does take time to heal. It is one form of pit of depression that seems incurable. It makes us stray from faith. It makes our hope dim. Our values devalued. And life is just impossibly irretrievable. Future appears bleak.

Yet, in whatever state of sadness and sorrow we are in, there is always a miraculous ray somewhere that will just press through the prism of clouds in our life that will provide us some strength by way of comforting words and encouragement from others: to motivate us, to inspire us and to impel us to gain confidence and to get back to life. After all, life is indeed Worth living for all its purpose that God want us to be according to His divine plan to humanity.

There is also an antidote to combat this form of despondency, desperation, destitution and hopelessness besides faith for our Maker.

Learn how one young blind boy counterclockwise his own situation.

The poem below, I believe, comes from someone who experienced life the way you and I have or had.

There was a time it seemed as though
My life was tossing to and fro
And I, left with nowhere to go,
Was subject to the sea.

But there, ahead, a beam of light
Peered through the darkness of the night
And granted to me clearer sight
That I might be set free.

I steered a course toward the land
To find a refuge on the sand
And maybe touch the gentle hand
That guided me along.

And when I reached the coast that night,
Upon a hill, the shining light
Was tended by a welcome sight . . .
My friends had led me home.

" There's a light at the end of the tunnel" indeed!"
Thought for Today

"I believe there's a calling for all of us. I know that every human being has value and purpose. The real work of our lives is to become aware. And awakened. To answer the call." — Oprah

Interestingly, David Leonhardt, the founder of The Happy Guy has this to say:

VALUE
I like this routine by a motivational speaker who’s name I did not catch. He held up a $20 bill and asked who wanted it. Hands went up. He then dropped it to the floor and crunched it up under his shoe, trampling it and dirtying it. Again he held it up and asked who wanted it. Again, hands went up.

He then told the audience what a valuable lesson they had learned; even after being trampled upon and crumpled, they still wanted the $20 bill because it had not lost any value. And he told them that everyone in the room has been trampled and messed up in some way at some time, yet they remain just as valuable.

You see, you are that $20 bill. And no matter how beaten and bruised you might feel at any point, you don’t lose your value.
What a timely addition!

Cheers!

  3. Loved the $20.00 bill approach. I am one of those incurable, ANNOYING, optimists. Rarely does life get me down for long. I have seen too often that the bad will go away given time and it often leaves behind a valuable lesson and an improved soul.
