At home, the environment is much quieter, relaxed with truly a homely atmosphere compared to the noisy cramped ward she and the baby were confined.
She's a bit disappointed that she could not breastfeed the baby, but bottle feeding is always the likely favourable option. So that's what the baby is happy to settle herself in.
After a week on their own; mom, dad and the baby as planned for an exclusive family bonding purpose, I was allowed to come into their "new life". It took quite a long while before any family members other than them three were permitted to visit the new mother and the addition. So my own personal "Hello World" greeting came in rather late.
The baby did not care much about fusses and trimmings usually accorded to a newborn. She came out to be a good baby whose duty besides delighting her people with her cherubic charm is to eat, sleep, cry a bit, wee and poo. Oh she loves her grandma's warm cuddles. My arms make very good comfortable bed for her and I don't mind one bit. It is heaven! Truly heaven for me! That's my answer to my daughter's question, "what's its like to feel a grandma?"
I honestly feel that she is just like my own baby only she came out from her mother's womb who happens to be my daughter.
Here's a few of the snapshots I took during my visits to give a hand.
