For My OWM
And for my belated Nostalgia as a Test Run Only ...
(Oh, yes, this is the skinny me when I was 33 or 34? This was taken in Talisay, Cebu. The lady behind me is my dear Mother. That's the only picture I have with me as the rest of the family memoirs are still at home in my country. God knows who keep them now. I like looking at my mother because she looks happy and contented in this photo. She was a happy lady in a way; serious but humorous.)
I couldn't almost forgive myself for nearly forgetting the most important event in our family. Today, the USA celebrates Independence Day. And my country perhaps is still observing Fil-Am Friendship Day; though in my elementary years, July 4th was used to be our Independence Day too! Then the icing of the cake: July 4th has a very special personal meaning to me. About 62 years ago today, my beloved departed folks said their vows in marriage. Should they have been still around, we would have been gathering around to celebrate their own Wedding Anniversary.

ReplyDeleteYes it's been a long time since we wrote comments on each others blogs. Not that I didn't want to, but I had a very busy and long winter with a lot on my plate. I survived!! And my daughter and family came all the way from Australia and stayed here during May. It was wonderful to see the grandchildren after two years. They grow so fast. Have a great week!
Bonnie: So nice that you have so many remembrances on the 4th of July, thanks so much for sharing on your visit.

I would recognise that smile anywhere, Bonnie. Your Mother looks like a nice lady and yes, she looks serene. I think we all have photos of the "thin" me. Except the "thin" me left a very long time ago. I wish she'd come back though.

Hi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned about the new blog template and embedded thing. I am having trouble again with my stories site. The comments are not posted on the site, though I am informed on my yahoo a'c. I wonder if there is a virus.
Cheers,
Ann
